Firelight, hosted at Atlanta's SweetWater Brewing Company on November 21st from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., will feature live music, cold beer, food trucks, outdoor campfires, an REI S'mores bar and the artwork of our friend BlackCatTips - all in support of The Georgia Conservancy's Stewardship Trips Program.
Firelight "Know Before You go"
The Event: Firelight is hosted inside and outside the SweetWater Brewing Company. In the parking lot we will have a food (truck) court and a REI-hosted lounge area and campfire. In the patio we will host REI’s S’more bar, two campfires and our main stage of music. The tasting room will feature a wonderful selection of SweetWater beer, and upstairs in the Reel Room folks will find silent auction, another beer bar and a VIP area with Preserving Place jams, Pie Shop pies and Sweet Grass Dairy cheese. The VIP area is assessable by wristband only.
Parking: There will be no parking in front of SweetWater Brewing Company. SweetWater will have two parking attendants directing traffic and instructing folks on where to park in adjacent lots.
Getting in: Our partners at Xorbia will be running registration at the entrance to SweetWater. We will have two lines - pre-purchased and purchased at the door. Please note that all promo codes will be discontinued at the door. Print your tickets or bring on your phone - all you need is a valid QR code to get checked in. Guests who registered for mobile tickets will receive a text message 4 hours before the event
Silent Auction: Our silent auction is mobile bidding ONLY. Make sure you pre-register here: www.501auctions.com/firelight. Thanks to many friends, partners and volunteers we have one of the best silent auctions ever assembled by The Georgia Conservancy, including adventures close at home (Georgia State Parks package, Columbus GA Whitewater package, Mulberry Gap Inn and Flint River Rocky Bend Reserve cabin stay, Okefenokee Wilderness Adventure) and far away (Argentinian Dove Hunt with Burnt Pine Plantation, a week-long vacation in a luxury home in Akumal, Mexico and a Winter Park, Colorado getaway). Every Firelight guest who pre-registers for the Silent Auction receives a free Firelight raffle ticket! Also - bid early and often - Firelight silent auction bidding starts tonight! We will have a Firelight silent auction check-in area where you can swipe your card and make an account if you forget to register before the event - or if you’re having difficulties.
Raffle: Our raffle is LIVE! Up for grabs is an incredible REI evrgrn camp set that includes 1 - evrgrn Picnic Table ($70), 2 - evrgrn Crash Sack sleeping bag ($240), 2 - evrgrn Grounded Cushion ($70), 1 - Lowboy Lantern ($30), 1 - evrgrn Center Stage Rug ($65), and 1 evrgrn Starry Night two-person tent ($250) for a total value of over $700! Raffle tickets start at $5 per ticket. You DO NOT have to be present to win. Purchase raffle tickets by clicking here.
Membership Drive and Raffle: Did you know the Georgia Conservancy is a membership organization that has been supported by Georgians since 1967? Without members, our work would cease to exist. Our goal is to bring in more than 50 members through Firelight, and we are well on our way with 8 people adding memberships when they purchased tickets. During Firelight, folks who join as members will be entered into a raffle to be upgraded to a Golden Ticket, win jewelry from Kendra Scott (who will be selling jewelry in the silent auction with 20% of proceeds going to the Georgia Conservancy!) or take home a GC merchandise care package.
Merchandise: GC and Firelight merchandise will be on-sale just inside the door at SweetWater and includes Firelight long-sleeved shirts, Firelight short-sleeved shirts, Firelight zip-up hoodies (yes, this is a thing and it’s incredible), GC hats, shirts and water bottles. We can accept check, cash and credit / debit card payment.
Pint Glasses: the first 600 pre-registered attendants receive a custom Kyle Brooks designed Georgia Conservancy pint glass. No “at the door” purchases will receive the pint glass.
Beer samples: Each Firelight registration includes 6 beer “tasting” tickets for SweetWater beer or specialty SweetWater casked beer.
Food Trucks: Make sure to come to Firelight hungry and support our awesome food vendors: The Marlay House Food Truck, C’est Tout Bon, Cousins Maine Lobster, Genki, Pop Dog, and Jake’s Ice Cream (serving hot chocolate floats)
Other drinks: We will have soda, water and La Croix in coolers around the venue and water coolers at the bar. Please recycle!
Uber: New Uber users can use Firelight15 and receive a free ride home up to $20!
Music: Thank you to Sailing to Denver (around the campfire), Kristina Murray Band (on the main stage) and Mike Fiorello and John Schmarkey from All The Locals (the band All The Locals had a few scheduling conflicts and we’re stoked to have Mike pinch hit!)
VIP: VIP tickets include a Kyle Brooks bear head mega-magnet and access to a VIP area with Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese, Preserving Place jams, and Pie Shop Pie. VIP access also includes a specialty beer located upstairs in the Reel Room and a coupon for a free Jake's Ice Cream Hot Chocolate Float. VIP guests will receive a wristband and a small bag with their goodies when they enter.
Following two years of maxing out Firelight at the SweetWater Brewing Company's Reel Room, we decided to grow a little in '15 and host Firelight across the whole brewery: The Reel Room, The Tap Room and the outdoor patio.
This year, when you arrive, you will be greeted by the sounds of Sailing To Denver "busking" around the campfire, food trucks in the parking lot, live music from Kristina Murray Band and All The Locals on the patio stage, free flowing taps, a specialty beer in The Tap Room, as well as a silent auction, and a special VIP area with specialty food and beer upstairs in The Reel Room!
We looking forward to seeing y'all on November 21st!
Be sure to get your tickets here and enjoy a few pictures from our past events!
From Cloudland Canyon to the Altamaha River - literally across the state of Georgia - each of these bands has performed on canyon rims and river banks for Georgia Conservancy trips in 2015. Come on out to hear what trips folks already know: from outlaw country to american roots-rock to neo-soul - this is one of the best collections of live music you'll hear all-year-long, under the stars or in the city!
2015 Firelight Artwork by BlackCatTips
We got a friend in Kyle Brooks - aka BlackCatTips, aka one of Atlanta's best artists. Kyle has been a partner with the Georgia Conservancy on our #bearsaroundga social sharing campaign, he helped us paint the ol' bus on Sapelo Island and he's been doing a mighty fine John Denver impression around our campfires. Kyle's artwork will be a centerpiece at Firelight, not only in our signature Firelight design (seen above), but our 2015 Firelight / Georgia Conservancy t-shirt . Packaged with each ticket item will be a piece of BlackCatTips artwork (a sticker, magnet or "bear head" if you get real fancy.) Check out Kyle's website (www.blackcattips.com) here and give him a follow on the social media (@blackcattips.)

The Georgia Conservancy is a statewide, member-supported conservation and environmental organization. Our work for environmental advocacy, land conservation, coastal protection, sustainable growth and outdoor stewardship recognizes the connection between the environment, the economy and our quality of life.
Our Mission: To protect and conserve Georgia's natural resources through advocacy, engagement and collaboration. Since 1967, the Georgia Conservancy has been protecting and exploring Georgia.
By day, we explore Georgia’s most precious rivers, forests and mountains. By night, we gather in the glow of a campfire to celebrate our love of the outdoors. With that sentiment in mind, we have created Firelight, a fundraiser to help us grow our Stewardship Trips Program and celebrate the best that a good campfire has to offer: great music, great beer and great friends!
